Why Dominicana is a Best Seller — What Makes This Model Stand Out

Why Dominicana is a bestseller — what sets this model apart

Dominicana is the model that is most frequently chosen from our range of six pool enclosures — Santorini, Bali, Maledives, Rodos, Dominicana, Tenerife. After years of implementation, we see a clear pattern. Not price, not aesthetics, although both fit. The decisive factor is the structural detail in the geometry of the enclosure — an arch combined with straight sides at an angle. This hybrid determines the durability and distinguishes Dominicana from the other models in the portfolio.

What is Dominicana — key features

Dominicana is a medium-height pool enclosure with an arched structure, available in two height variants — 60 cm and 80 cm. It allows for free swimming under the enclosure without the need to submerge one’s face while moving.

Height

60 cm or 80 cm as standard. The 80 cm variant is recommended for taller individuals.

Construction

Arched roof with straight sides at an angle. Telescopic system — segments slide into one another.

Segments

3-4 segments as standard for pools 3×6 m and 8×4 m. The number of segments is selected individually.

Material

Powder-coated aluminum 6060, solid polycarbonate 3 mm with a double-sided UV filter. Option for 4 mm.

Hybrid geometry: arch + angles = durability

What distinguishes Dominicana from other arched models (Maledives, Rodos, Tenerife) is the way the geometry is connected. A pure arch is a structure where each element runs along the curve — from one side to the other. Dominicana is a hybrid: the center of the roof has an arched profile, while the sides transition into straight angular sections.

The arch transfers loads. The curvature distributes vertical forces (snow, rain, weight of precipitation) across the entire surface of the segment, reducing point loads. Water and snow flow along the curve instead of accumulating on the roof.

Angles maintain geometry. Straight angular sides provide rigidity to the structure in the horizontal dimension. The segment does not deform with temperature changes, and the geometry remains stable over time. This is crucial for the smoothness of movement — the wheels run on the tracks at a constant distance throughout the entire period of use.

USP of DominicanaThe combination of arches and angles is not an aesthetic decision. It is a structural choice — a compromise between load-bearing strength (where the arch wins) and geometric stiffness (where straight profiles win). Dominicana combines both.

Dominicana - arched structure with angular sides

Dominicana — a hybrid of an arch with rigid angular sides. The arch bears the loads, while the angles maintain the geometry.

Dominicana against the backdrop of other models in the offer

Each of the six models addresses a different usage scenario. Below is a summary of the complete portfolio from our offer — with specific features that distinguish each model.

Model Height Roof Characteristics
Santorini 40-60 cm Flat (minimal arch) Low premium The lowest cover, swimming is possible. Low aesthetics, integrates with the garden.
Bali Low elevated Flat (minimal arch) Low An elevated version of Santorini, swimming is possible.
Maledives Medium Arched Medium, the cheapest version Swimming is possible. A budget option in the arched segment.
Rodos Medium Arched Most durable against snow Swimming is possible. Arched structure optimized for higher snow loads.
Dominicana 60 or 80 cm Arched + angled sides Bestseller Swimmable. Hybrid geometry — a compromise between load-bearing strength and rigidity.
Tenerife Walk-in Arched Top premium You can walk upright under the cover. Maximum space.

From the perspective of a customer comparing offers: Dominicana fills the middle of the table. Higher than Santorini and Bali (thus more comfortable for swimming), lower than Tenerife (thus less visually dominant). Arched like Maledives and Rodos, but with additional rigidity of the side profiles.

Technical specifications

Dominicana, like all models in our offer, is built from the same materials and uses the same construction solutions. The difference lies solely in the roof geometry and height.

  • Aluminum profiles — alloy 6060. Size 40×50 mm as standard, 80×50 mm reinforced for larger spans or flat constructions.
  • Powder coating. We powder coat the profiles in our own paint shop. The guide rails are anodized.
  • Solid polycarbonate 3 mm with a double-sided UV filter. Resistant to hail and mechanical impacts. A 4 mm version is available as an option.
  • Laser welding. No visible joints, no caps to mask. The structure remains aesthetic for many years — as there are no glued elements that could peel off.
  • EPDM seals. Durable, resistant to frost and pool chemicals.
  • Double guide rollers. Compensate for terrace curvature errors, increase load-bearing strength of the segment, maintain smooth movement.
  • Anti-wind system. Prevents the segment from lifting up in strong winds. Standard on every model.
  • Segment locks — polyamide-stainless steel. An element designed as a safety feature — in case of improper use, it breaks instead of the cover structure.
  • Telescopic system. 3-4 segments as standard, each segment moves independently. No limit on the maximum number of segments — configuration tailored to the specific pool of the customer.

Most of the time, the client performs the installation of the enclosure themselves — the typical installation time is about 6 hours with 2 people. We have described the detailed process in the step-by-step installation article.

Who Dominicana is NOT a good choice for

Bestseller does not mean it fits everyone. Four situations where it’s better to consider another model from our offer.

Your need Better choice
I want to walk upright under the enclosure, treating the pool area like a garden living room Tenerife (walk-in)
Priority is minimal visual presence in the garden, the lowest profile possible Santorini (40-60 cm, low premium)
Priority is the lowest price in the arch segment Maledives (the cheapest arch version)
I live in an area with frequent and heavy snowfall (e.g. mountains, northern regions) Rodos (the most durable against snow)

Dominicana is a bestseller because for the average garden in the Polish climate, its combination of height, geometry, and price meets the needs of most customers. If your situation deviates from the typical, it is worth considering a specialized model.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Dominicana in the garden - arch pool enclosure in full configuration

Dominicana — full configuration in the customer’s garden, the arch bestseller of our offer.
Can you swim under Dominicana? +

Yes. The height of 60 or 80 cm allows for free swimming without the need to submerge your face while moving. You can also swim under lower models (Santorini, Bali), but it requires more submersion. Dominicana is most often chosen by customers who want a more free swimming experience than in low models, but do not walk under the enclosure (for that purpose, Tenerife walk-in is used).

Does the Dominicana enclosure require a building permit? +

No. The telescopic sliding structure is not considered a building object under Polish construction law — it does not require a permit or notification to the county office. This applies to all models in our offer.

Can I choose a RAL color to match the house facade? +

Yes. Any RAL palette is included in the standard enclosure price — no extra charges for non-standard colors. We powder coat the profiles in our own paint shop, so each order is made in the specific color requested by the customer.

How long does it take from order to installation? +

Off-season 1-4 weeks from placing the order. During peak season (April-July), it takes 4-8 weeks. If you plan to install on a specific weekend, order well in advance — we will fulfill orders placed off-season the fastest.

Do I install it myself, or is service needed? +

In most cases, the customer installs it themselves. The typical installation time is about 6 hours with 2 people. The entire system is designed for self-installation with household tools — a hammer drill, wrenches, level. We do not require authorized service.

What safety features for children are included in Dominicana? +

As standard, each segment has a latch (butterfly) — a clever child can overcome it. An option is available for a key-operated handle plus internal locks for the same key. Key in the house, handle at adult height — then the child cannot open the enclosure.

What exactly is included in the price of Dominicana? +

The price is the total price for the customer’s home. Included: product, transport to the customer’s address, anti-wind locks, segment locks, any RAL color, pricing. Additional charges are only for options (key-operated handle, key locks, 4 mm polycarbonate instead of 3 mm). No hidden logistics costs.

How long will Dominicana last — are spare parts available after years? +

The enclosure system has not changed for us in 5 years — spare parts are readily available. Aluminum 6060 does not corrode, solid 3 mm polycarbonate is resistant to hail and mechanical impacts. The most frequently worn elements are the butterfly locks of the segments (designed as a fuse) — they can be replaced by yourself.
